Branden Thomas

Bringing over two decades of enterprise experience to small and midsized businesses. I’ve led and delivered complex technology initiatives for Fortune 500 companies, state and federal government, and private foundations — driving high-stakes, large-scale implementations with diverse global teams. Today, I apply that same disciplined execution and architectural clarity to organizations that value getting it right the first time.

Branden Thomas | Technology Strategy & Fractional CTO Advisory

Direction

Establish clear technical direction before complexity, debt, or vendor pressure takes hold. Senior guidance for decisions that shape the business long after implementation.

Architect

Design systems that work together across platforms, data, and workflows. Built to scale quietly — without fragility or constant rework.

Execution

Lead complex initiatives through delivery, integration, and change. From commitment to completion — with discipline and accountability.

Who Am I?

I’m a Lawton native who spent more than two decades building technology solutions across the U.S. and abroad before finding my way back home.

My career has taken me from Europe — working in Amsterdam and the United Kingdom — to nearly fifteen years in the Pacific Northwest, where I partnered with organizations including Microsoft, Boeing, Bezos Family Foundation, Stryker, Bank of the West, Charles Schwab, Delta Dental and the California Department of Medicaid (Medi-Cal). Much of my work centered on complex, high-stakes environments — where scale, compliance, and execution weren’t optional.

Outside of work, I’m happiest outdoors — hiking, exploring new places, and spending time in nature, usually with my dog close by. The Wichita Mountains have always been a favorite, and spending time there continues to remind me how special this region is.

Southwest Oklahoma is home — close to family, connected to the community, and a place where I can put my experience to work locally. I’m excited about the region’s future and looking forward to playing my small part in it.

What Can I Do?

I help leadership teams make sound technology decisions and ensure those decisions hold up in practice. My work sits at the intersection of strategy, architecture, and execution — bringing enterprise-level discipline to organizations that value clarity, accountability, and durable systems.

I’m typically engaged when technology matters to the business — not as a cost center, but as infrastructure that must perform reliably over time.

Technology Strategy & Advisory

Clear judgment when decisions carry lasting consequences.

I advise executives on platform selection, system direction, and investment prioritization — helping organizations avoid fragmentation, vendor lock-in, and costly rework. This often includes early guidance before major commitments, as well as course correction when existing environments aren’t holding up.

Systems Architecture & Integration

Systems designed to work together — and keep working.

I design and connect cloud platforms, data sources, and operational tools into cohesive architectures that scale without fragility. The focus is interoperability, data ownership, security, and long-term viability — not short-term point solutions.

Enterprise-to-SMB Translation

Enterprise rigor, applied with restraint.

Having delivered complex systems across Fortune 500 companies, government agencies, and private foundations, I translate enterprise standards into right-sized solutions for SMBs — preserving rigor without importing unnecessary overhead or process theater.

Implementation Leadership

Strategy only matters if it survives execution.

I lead and support implementations across vendors, teams, and stakeholders — ensuring projects move from commitment to completion with discipline, documentation, and accountability. This includes integrations, migrations, workflow automation, and operational tooling.

System Audits & Second Opinions

Independent perspective when something doesn’t feel right.

I provide objective assessments of existing systems, integrations, and vendor proposals — identifying risk, redundancy, and misalignment before they become expensive problems. Often engaged as a trusted second set of eyes.

Fractional Technology Leadership

Senior-level thinking without full-time overhead.

For organizations that need architectural judgment and leadership but not a permanent hire, I operate as fractional technology leadership — supporting planning, execution, and governance across people, process, and platforms.

Who I Typically Work With

  • Founders and owners preparing to scale without losing control

  • Executive and C-suite leadership teams

  • Operators responsible for fragmented, aging, or inherited systems

  • Organizations operating in regulated or compliance-sensitive environments

How I Engage

Engagements are structured, scoped, and outcome-driven.

I work independently or alongside internal teams, existing vendors, and advisors — with a focus on reducing complexity, improving execution, and leaving the organization stronger than I found it.
